Sun Island is located on the island of Nalaguraidhoo in the South Ari Atoll. As the largest resort in the Maldives, adventure and relaxation are within equal reach for travellers. The resort is home to a migratory bird sanctuary and rehabilitation programme for recolonising its coral reefs. An inspired eco-friendly resort, Sun Island promotes nature-friendly initiatives and various conservation programmes. Its botanical gardens produce 20,000 coconuts a month, as well as other tropical fruits and vegetables. In 2016, Sun Island received the “Leading Eco Resort in the Maldives” award.
